The West Haven Wizards had an amazing weekend at Yankee League Swim Trials. Trials took place at two different venues, over three sessions on both Saturday and Sunday. Forty Wizards swimmers will advance to Yankee League finals and an additional four qualified as alternates.
The following swimmers will go on to Yankee League Finals” 9/10 girls — Aryanna Gorske, Lia Hey, Leahn Mendoza, Erin Morton, Aarya Mulmi, Maya Wureh and Aimara Soto as an alternate; 9/10 boys — Ean Annatone, Kasey Cadden, Nathan Charron, AJ Meglio, Lucas Yavagnilio and Logan McCorkle and Neven Vidosevic as alternates; 11/12 girls — Eileen Barrington, Lauren Blake, Kaleigh Morton and Macie Rascoll; 11/12 boys — Anthony Castillo, Collin Charron, Jacob Collette, Andrew Mclarty and Bo Wureh; 13/14 girls — Emily Eschweiler, Kaelyn Falanga, Morgan Falanga, Vivian Freitas, Jillian Goldbeck, Madison Hobart, Hannah Rascoll, Kaylee Taulty, Kaya Vital, Molly Wilson and Victoria Acuna as an alternate; 13-and-over boys — John Barrington, George Bohorquez, Mustansir Jamalee and Gavin Kanlong; 15-and-over girls — Anya Celmer, Arianna Chen, Jillian Doherty Madyson Elias and Carly Weber.
The Wizards have many swimmers seeded in the top three for their events moving into finals. Seeded first in the Yankee League going into finals are Anya Celmar is for the girls 15-and-over 100-yard breaststroke; Vivian Freitas for the 13/14 girls 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley, and Bo Wureh for the 11/12 boys 100-yard freestyle and 50-yard freestyle.
Seeded second are Ean Annatone for the 9/10 boys 50-yard freestyle; Jillian Doherty for the 15-and-over girls 100-yard freestyle; Kaleigh Morton for the 11/12 girls 200-yard individual medley; Kaya Vital for the 13/14 girls 100-yard breaststroke and the 13-and-over 200-yard medley relay team.
Seeded third are Anya Celmer for the 15-and-over girls 100-yard butterfly; Collin Charron for the 11/12 boys 200-yard individual medley; Nathan Charron for the 9/10 boys 50-yard backstroke; Erin Morton for the 9/10 girls 100-yard individual medley, Aarya Mulmi for the 9/10 girls 50-yard freestyle and the 13-and-over girls 200-yard freestyle relay team.
