The West Haven Lacrosse 5/6 team continued with action over the last two weeks. The Blue Devils traveled to Monroe and used a balanced scoring attack to come away with a 9-2 win.
Ryan Walsh, Jeremiah McGrath, Anthony Dimeglio, Rocco Kelly, Matt Ciccosanti and Danny Slubowski all found the back of the net. Nick Ciccosanti and Slubowski accounted for assists for the Westies. Michael Paone was outstanding in net for the win.
On Sunday, the Westies dropped a 4-2 contest to North Haven 5/6. After falling behind, 4-0, Charlie Gunning was set up with a nice assist from Kelly to account for a goal. Matt Ciccosanti took and assist from Cody Young to score the other goal. The Westies were led on the attack by AJ Farrell, Shea Outhavong, and Young. Walsh, Ellis Cortes and Sean Gilbert led the defensive effort. Paone was stellar in net turning away several point-blank attempts.
Matt Ciccosanti, McGrath and Gunning had goals, but the Westies fell to New Canaan, 6-3. Kelly accounted for all three assists, including one on a no look pass. Shea Outhavong, Nick Ciccosanti and Anthony Dimeglio all turned in solid efforts. Paone again starred in net for the win. Walsh, Farrell, Cortes and Gilbert once again led the defensive attack.
