On the final match day of the season, the G pool saw three exciting games to round out the fall. The WH Professional Fire Fighters took on Meledes Construction, LLC while Elite Soccer Camps took on West Shore Family Dental. In the third match, the First Congregational Church took on the WH Italian American Civic Organization. Bianca Dinallo, Aubrie Panton, and Dean Azano all scored. Jimmy Louis, Amelia Wickes and Boden Rogers all showed a lot of hustle, and Juliana Barrios, Aurora Fyre, and Landon Alling dribbled into open space and used moves to try to get by their opponents.
The Elite Soccer Camps Wolves finished the season strong, defeating the Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center, 9-5. Matteo D’Elia and Luca DeCresenzo led the scoring, with Trevor Hinton, Jeshrun Polington, Jax Guarino and Seth Empric finding the back of the net as well. Jacob Rader and Cash Ocampo showed off their dribbling moves, and Ben Trenchard and Brandon Rylski played excellent defense. Luca Gagliardi picked up his first goal and Nicholas Pratt showed a lot of hustle in the win for the Elite Soccer Wolves.
The Seacrest Retirement Center fell to UNH, 4-2. For Seacrest Retirement Center, Victor Davila made some great saves in goal and Robin Munoz Escobedo played solidly at center back. The Cappetta’s Italian Imports Polar Bears ended the season with a 1-0 win against the Shoreline Wellness Center. Celeste DiNallo fought hard on defense with Jocelyn Kenny making some big saves in the goal. Luciana Cappetta scored for the Polar Bears.
The #DAVILATRIBE Lightning played the Rock House School of Music, winning 6-4. Hudanur Sahin helped her team out by adapting to multiple positions on the field. Jada Turner showed improved throughout the game with her footwork. The #DAVILATRIBE Thunder also picked up a win this weekend, topping the Top Hat Dance Academy, 7-5. Kaiyley Ramirez Serrano played aggressively and moved the ball up the field. Angeliza Davila used her defensive skills to deflect shots made on goal. Isabella Celentano scored her first goal of the season.
The Nick’s Luncheonette Dragons played their final game against Baybrook Remodelers, which ended in a 3-3 tie. The exceptional players in that game were Erick Diaz Yadaicela, Kobe Quirmolue and Emmett Hemming. The Milano & Wanat Warriors completed a perfect season by defeating P & B Express, 3-0. Good defense was shown by Adhan Beyah and Ines Sahin. Julius Stokes and Jesus Rangel made some key passes and goals were scored by Jackson Gabriele and Jordan Walker came up big in goal.
The Gunning Law Firm Macaroons defeated Oyster River Energy 4-0 to close out the season. The Macaroons were lead by Destiny Davis, Ariel Titus and Alessia Coletta all scoring goals to closeout a fantastic season.
On Friday, the George Ellis Company West Haven U11 girls traveled up to Wallingford and tied 1-1 with Ariana Throm scoring the solo goal. The team was able to maintain possession of the ball for the majority of the game with the help of midfielders Sophia Empric, Kylie Gibbons, Hailey Dargon and Chelsea Hernandez. In a quick turn around, the girls were back in action on Saturday, as they hosted Shelton, picking up the 4-1 win. In the first half, there were two goals from Ariana Throm with Haleigh McCarthy picking up an assist. Hailey Dargon also scored, with an assist pass from Sophia Empric. Shelton scored in the second half, but Throm came back with a solo goal to pick up the hat trick and finish out the game.
The Sweet Relief U10 girls played a tough game against Milford on Saturday, falling 7-2. Kai Ruotolo showed off some excellent footskills to put one in the net. Stella Porto also scored for West Haven. The girls faced off against Orange on Sunday with Annabelle Fiorillo leading the defense with several excellent plays. Gillian Wynus worked to control the ball on the field. In the end, West Haven lost to Orange 5-0. Under the lights in Wallingford on Friday night, the Porto Funeral Homes U12 Westie Girls fell 4-2. It was a hard fought battle in defense and goalie Kayla Quantinilla stopped multiple attempts on goal. In the first half, Camilla Murphy put the Westie girls on the scoreboard with their first goal. The second goal came from Riley Fenn, a penalty shot into the right corner.
In the end the Westies put up a good fight, but were unable to come out on top. It was a well fought game by all.
The Stars Ice Cream Westie U9 girls traveled to Guilford for a Saturday night showdown. This was an entertaining game with tough defense and a lot of effort. The Westies came up a little short, losing 2-1 on a last-minute penalty kick.
