A Family Fun Night staple for seven years, youngsters and their families took part in games – most with food it seems – and fun under the supervision of WHCH staff and volunteers from SCSU. 'Dearly departed'The West Haven High School Theatre Workshop presents “Dearly Departed” on Thursday and Fri- day, Nov. 16 and 17 in the WHHS auditorium at 7:30. This hilarious play focuses on the Turpin family proving that living and dying in the South is seldom tidy but always hilarious. Featuring the talents of Mya Ginsberg, Austin Werner, Gillian Chadderton, David O’Brien, Dan Gallipoli, Andrew Brown, S. Barry, Hanna Casman, Andre Roman-Groomes, Courtney Skeens, Miranda Burrows, Shelby Gagne, Gina Misurale, Wilson Valois, and Olivia Coppolased. Shown rehearsing a scene are: Gillian Chadderton, David O’Brien, Mya Ginsberg, Dan Gallipoli, Shelby Gagne, Miranda Burrows, Andrew Brown. Scholar-athletesPictured are WHHS James Delgado and Megan Paterson who are named the SCC Scholar-Athletes. James is currently number one in the class with a GPA of 4.78. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the captain of the tennis team. Megan is ranked 5th in the class with a GPA of 4.55. She is the president of the senior class and the captain of the volleyball team.

Rainforest creatureOur Lady of Victory School children enjoyed an assembly with a few rainforest animals. The children learned about a variety of creatures, such as their way of living, cleanliness, what types of food they would eat and other facts. Besides the boa in the photo the children also enjoyed seeing a tarantula, Macaw parrot, iguanas, cockroach, and a tortoise.

Dubel's Cafe donates for cancer awarenessFrom left, Art Gilbert and Dubel’s Cafe owner Fred Hugendubel, co-chairmen of the Dubel’s Golf Tournament, present a $5,850 check for the West Haven Breast Cancer Awareness Program to committee member Beth A. Sabo on Nov. 9 at City Hall as tournament organizers and breast cancer survivors Elma Mohan and Jo-Anne Hugendubel-Case look on. The money was raised at the annual golf tournament in October.

Bennett Rink last weekend after being honored by the local organization.
