Hate tainted the media

So, the mainstream media is attempting to do a stealth about-face concerning the origins of the corona virus. More and more evidence – circumstantial and otherwise – has forced the self-styled elites in the media to look at, possibly for the first time for some, the virus was not the result of bats being sold in a wet market in Wuhan, China, but came out of a virology lab only blocks away. Remember, just days ago, this was a topic not only sneered at, but censored by the likes of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media outlets.

Remember also, the possibility the virus came from the laboratory was posited by former President Donald Trump and his Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo. The media scoffed. It was only an attempt by the administration to deflect from what the elites saw as the failure of the administration to fight the pandemic.

Within days, however, the same media outlets that saw tinfoil hats on those who even uttered such possibilities now are changing direction – and trying to soft-pedal their own role in misinforming the public, and the marginalization of those who veered from the chosen narrative.

There was information about this for weeks, but it was only until news of the laboratory’s own researchers becoming sick and being hospitalized that things changed. The New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, and the other networks had to admit there is strong evidence the virus was leaked out of the Wuhan facility.

Journalists are now wondering how things could have gone so wrong. How could this part of the story be potentially true? The proof the issue could not longer be marginalized came from Master of the Universe Facebook. It is now allowing stories to put on its newsfeeds and those of its members that call the origins into question. Don’t believe us, go to https://spectator.us/topic/media-u-turn-lab-leak-coronavirus-theory/, or https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1397334751774658562.html to see the change in tone – and coverage.

There need not be any navel-gazing about how it got so wrong – we all know. Donald Trump. The pandemic was weaponized by the media and its political friends in the Democratic Party in the run-up to last year’s election. Anything – anything – that could be seen as a positive for the Trump administration was immediately nixed by the narrative-makers. That narrative – that things were being botched badly – had to prevail.

Also, Trump’s insistence China play by the same rules as everyone else in matters of trade and copywrite law was a threat to the inroads multi-national corporations, which own the networks, were trying to make. While it is true China was stealing our intellectual property, it was a small thing compared to the sneakers, TVs, computers, and other commodities that could be made so much cheaper over there. There is too much money to be made.

Therefore, any iota of evidence that would veer from the narrative had to be marginalized: the virus came from a wet market, Trump saying otherwise is disinformation and further evidence of his racist animus against China, and his handling of the virus shows he is anti-science and callous.

Trump said it, the Democrats and the acolytes in the media were against it. It was Trump Derangement Syndrome writ large to the detriment of hundreds of thousands of people.

Do not fool yourself into thinking this will cause the elites to re-think their views. They did not with the election of 2016, the Russia, Russia, Russia narrative, or this. They will do the same the next time. Self-interest and money will win out over the public’s right to know. The mainstream media is Pravda.

Whoever writes these has really gone over the edge at this point.
