Ryan Malone had two hits including a double and scored three runs, and Michael Anderson had two hits for the Mets. Marcus Vitolo and Bank Tighe had 2 hits a piece for the Pirates.
The Duffy’s Tavern Red Sox beat the Leslie Jewelers Dodgers, 6-5.
The Mets, behind the strong relief pitching of Matt Pasacreta who had eight strike outs in three innings, defeat the Dodgers, 8-3. Tommy Vets had two hits including a double, and Danny Potter had triple and three RBI for the Mets. Rui Dasilva had a pair of doubles, and Mike Luth had a key hit and scored two runs for the Dodgers.
The All-Star game will be played on June 29 at the West Haven Sports Complex with softball starting at 3 p.m., followed by the homerun derby, the awarding of scholarships, and the senior game.
