Ralph Biondi
Ralph Biondi, age 76, of West Haven, CT passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 6, 2022. Ralph was born on March 25, 1945 in New Haven, CT and is predeceased by his parents, Marie Louise (Andreola) and Pasquale Biondi. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Nancy Ortiz Biondi; his six children, Janine Biondi, Peter Biondi, Taisha Ortiz, Lisa Goll (Jonathan), Marie Biondi, Gina Godlewski (Joseph); his three cherished grandchildren Zackary Prates, Azreal, Greyson; and his loving sisters Claudia Marston and Noreen Biondi, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Ralph had a successful career and spent over 40 years at G&O Manufacturing before happily retiring. After receiving his Engineering degree, he began at the company as an Apprentice Engineer. Over time, he held many roles there, including an International Liaison resulting in his million-mile status on multiple airlines, and ended his career as Plant Manager for the New Haven, CT location.
Ralph was a devoted family man with a passion for civil service, community outreach, and the Freemason brotherhood. While he spent many years traveling the world, being with his family was always the most important part of his life. From Ralph’s selfless character to insightful wisdom, he was a true leader, role model, and father figure to many. His love for the water and seafood kept him close to his childhood town of West Haven, CT where he resided his entire life.
Over the years, Ralph lived life to the fullest and was a man of many talents. From working at his family’s butcher shop, delivering flowers for Fitzgerald florist, to even serving as a volunteer paramedic. He was also recognized as a distinguished ballroom dancer, loved riding his many motorcycles, and was an avid fisherman who had the opportunity to fish across the world. He was active with the CT Shriners and Masonic Annawon Lodge 115 Chapter where he held the coveted title of Master Mason in 2000 amongst his Mason brethren. He loved spending time with his lodge brothers and helped promote awareness of freemasonry in his town and anywhere he traveled. For many years, he was elected to serve on the West Haven Board of Assessment Appeals and was very involved in the West Haven Community and athletics through his daughters. Many will remember him for his infamous game dinners, his vastly impressive comic book, baseball card, and coin collection, and his Easter and Mother’s Day flower stands.
As his family, we will fondly remember him for his unique and cool style that showed you he marched to the beat of his own drum, his loving and always open heart, and his ability to soothe the soul through his cooking. Always happy, always smiling, and always selflessly caring for others.
May the glory of God guide Ralph to the gates of heaven and welcome him with open arms. While his physical presence may no longer be with us, he is with us in spirit watching over his friends and family forever and always.
“That man is a success – who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much, who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children, who has filled his niche and accomplished his task. Who leaves the world better than he found it, who has never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it, who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.” – Unknown
