The West Haven Seahawks 10U (9- & 10-year-olds) football team (11-0) will advance to the New England regional championship game this Saturday with a 39-0 win over the previously unbeaten Ansonia Coppers at Veterans Field on Saturday. West Haven represented the Southern Connecticut Conference and Ansonia was the champion from the Northern Connecticut Pop Warner Conference.
The offensive attack was led by Jacari Harris with three rushing touchdowns. Tristian Crawford, Treyvon Jaynes and Tremar Smith also scored for the Seahawks
The offensive line dominated the line of scrimmage led by Jayden Potter, CJ Schlauder, and Chris Summers. The Hawk defense was physical and stingy. Chace Stanley and Jeremyah Thames recorded drive stopping interceptions. William Pastore, Majesty Whitaker, Mason Booker, Jermaine Gibbs, Jaden Spell and Kaden Lafountain excelled on the defensive side of the ball.
The New England Regional Championship is this Saturday in West Haven at Veterans Memorial Park. The 10U Seahawk team will play at noon vs the Wilmington Wildcats (11-0), the Massachusetts State Champion.
