    Annual parade honors city’s fallen heroes
    Grand Marshal Gerald “Jerry” Cafferty steers West Haven’s Memorial Day parade up Campbell Avenue on Monday morning while riding shotgun in a black Mustang driven by city resident Kevin Gardner. Cafferty, a decorated Army veteran, served in the Vietnam War in 1970-71.

    WHHS Top 20 students get recognition
    West Haven’s Top 20 students in the Class of 2024 were feted at a breakfast at West River Hall.

    May 21, West Haven High School hosted its National Honor Society Induction Ceremony in the Auditorium. In total, 58 senior members were recognized, while 48 junior candidates were inducted into the prestigious organization. Senior Alison Frazer, the current President of the West Haven High School Chapter, moderated the event and welcomed the audience of family and friends before the program began.

    On Wednesday, May 15, Bailey Middle School hosted its National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) induction ceremony in the West Haven High School Auditorium. In total, 137 students in grades 7 and 8 were inducted into the prestigious organization.

    City marks Emergency Services Week
    Mayor Dorinda Borer delivers remarks observing the 50th anniversary of National Emergency Medical Services Week and honoring first responders during a ceremony at City Hall on May 21. As part of the event, about 100 city employees received training from more than 20 paramedics and EMTs in performing hands-only CPR, using an automated external defibrillator and administering Narcan, a brand name for a device that delivers the opioid-overdose antidote naloxone.

With the help of the community Addy was able to raise more than $100 and donated in excess of180 pounds of dog food. She dropped her donation off to Officer Morgan Ruggiero.
