    New granite panels at Vietnam Memorial
    Mayor Dorinda Borer, second from left, joins members of West Haven Vietnam Veterans Inc. at a newly installed section of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the Veterans Walk of Honor in Bradley Point Park on Oct. 22. With Borer are, from left, mayor’s office volunteer Beth Sabo, Barry Grasso, President Dave Ricci, Mark Levine, Treasurer Steve Carney, Kevin Sullivan, Howie Thomas and Howie Chernikoff. In June 2023, the West Haven Vietnam Memorial Inc. Committee launched a campaign to recognize additional current and former city residents who served in-country during the Vietnam War by inscribing their names on two new granite panels. Borer said the city will dedicate the panels during a Veterans Day tribute at 10:45 a.m. Nov. 11.

    The Lazy .5K “Race” to benefit Bridges Healthcare is set for Sunday, Nov. 2, from 2-4pm at Dockside Brewery 40 Bridgeport Ave. in Milford. The Lazy .5K “Race” is a playful half-kilometer event filled with games and challenges to raise funds for Bridges Healthcare’s community mental health services and awareness around the mental health challenges faced in the restaurant industry. Meanwhile, the senior members of the girl’s swim team were feted prior to their last home meet of the year.
