West Haven High School hosted its annual ‘Signing Day’ event two weeks ago in the high school’s all-purpose room, in which student-athletes who plan to play at the collegiate level are recognized in front of their family, friends, teammates, coaches, and staff. Co-Athletic Director Mike Anquillare created this event three years ago.
The ‘Signing Day’ featured the largest group of signees to date.
“These 14 students are not only great athletes, but they are also at the top of their class academically,” said Anquillare.
“They have excelled both in the classroom and off it, and I could not be more proud of this group. I wish them the best of luck at the next level.”
The 14 WHHS student-athletes that have committed to compete at the collegiate level are the following;
Amani Abuhatab (girls basketball), Mercy College; Maya Bermudez (girls soccer), the University of Southern Maine; Hannah Burrows (softball), Bay Path University; Gianna Carrano (softball), Albertus Magnus College; Kassidy Carrano (girls basketball), Springfield College; Cassidy Dalton (girls lacrosse), University of Bridgeport; Savien Daniley (football), Springfield College; Avian Evans (football), Springfield College); Jeremiah Christie- Frances (track & field), Clark Atlanta University; Sebastian Navarro (boys soccer), University of Indianapolis; Juliana Petruzziello (softball), Albertus Magnus College; Brianna Miller Pettaway (softball), Wentworth Institute of Technology; Shyanne Raccio (softball), Lasell University; and Deven Robinson (football), Western Connecticut State University.
