The West Haven Lacrosse 5/6 team opened it season with a split of road games last weekend.
Saturday, the Blue Devils travelled to Redding and dropped a 7-6 game against a tough Relax 5/6 team. Rocco Kelly scored 4 goals for the Westies. Charlie Gunning and Danny Moll each added a goal. Jeremiah McGrath was outstanding in net to keep the game within reach. Shea Outhavong, Ryan Walsh and Anthony Dimeglio accounted for assists in the game.
On Sunday, the Westies got in the win column with a 7-5 come from behind win over Watertown 5/6. After falling behind 4-1, the Westies got three goals apiece from Kelly and Gunning to take the lead. Matt Ciccosanti buried the final goal of the day. Cody Young had two assists for the Westies. The Westies were led on the back end by Nick Ciccosanti, Ellis Cortes, Danny Slubowski and AJ Farrell.
