Easter traditionThe Easter Bunny arrived a week early and made a special delivery of 100 Easter baskets to the children of the St. Louis campus of St. John, XXIII parish. The baskets were donated by the Fellowcraft Club of Annawon Lodge, #115 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of West Haven. The Club has been donating Easter baskets to St. Louis and the former St. Paul’s Church for the past 20 years. From L-R: Fellowcraft Club President Jerry Nero, the Easter Bunny (Past Master Steven R. New artSerena Ugas, a teacher assistant at the West Haven Child Development Center, Inc., volunteered with her fellow Gateway art club members to design and paint a mural for the children at the center. Blight task force organizedMayor Dorinda Borer and members of the city’s Blight Enforcement Task Force hold a news conference in the Harriet C. North Community Room of City Hall on March 27 to herald a new campaign to fight blight in West Haven. The announcement featured remarks by Borer, who was flanked by more than a dozen task force members.

Raymond Thomas, the founder, was a well-known businessman, and active in many organizations throughout the community. The West Haven Emergency Assistance Task force now occupies the lot Thomas’ Garage once called home.
